The Governing Board
As a governing body we work with the school on these main areas:

Ensuring clarity of the vision, ethos and strategic direction of the school

Holding the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school, its pupils and the performance management of its staff

Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent
- Being a 'critical friend' to all stakeholders
Governors volunteer their expertise and time for the benefit of the school. Each member of the Governing Board is nominated and voted into their position. We have Full Governing Body Governors are from a range of backgrounds, and work closely as a team, united by our commitment and the responsibilities we share for the school’s long-term success. Each governor is linked to an area of responsibility such as SEND, safeguarding as well as working with Subject Leaders to understand the teaching and learning of the curriculum. There are two sub-committees for Bourne that governors lead - Resources (Finance) and Curriculum.
